Introduction

Cult UI is an extension of the shadcn/ui ecosystem: a curated set of niche, animated components built to work with shadcn theme variables, patterns, and workflows.

This is not a traditional npm component package. Components are distributed as source via the registry and can be copied into your codebase, so you fully own and customize what you ship.

What does "not a component library" mean here?

It means no black-box dependency layer. You do not install a monolithic UI package from npm and style around its constraints.

Instead, pick the components you need, add them through the shadcn registry CLI or copy the source, and adapt them to your product.

Use Cult UI as a reference implementation for building your own design system on top of shadcn.
